Once upon a time, in a past world long lost, there were two powerful rivals, a Dragon called Tempesta and a Phoenix called Flamma. they always fought and fought, trying to kill eachother, they also caused terror and death to the other inhabitants, decimating villages and turning various populations worth of people into ashes, getting the attention of the gods, who decided to do something against this. so they placed Tempesta and Flamma in a fighting ring in the Dream Realm, it was a fight to the death, the winner getting a godly blessing, and the loser getting smited out of existence, so the rivals fought and fought, until something unexpected happened, they both killed eachother at the same time, leaving the gods puzzled, so they decided to destroy both of their SOULS, leaving nothing but their power and bodies in the soil of dreams. Then, after millions of thousands of years, a spark of life sparked in the area of the battle... a being was born, a being born of lost dreams and the power of two vicious beings that had fallen in battle against eachother, this being, is the one you call "Cala" today. the gods feared that Cala would grow far stronger than both Tempesta and Flamma, and a being born of two great evils is always a bad omen, so they decided to curse Cala's SOUL with an eternity of dying and being reborn, Cala being able to vaguely remember their past lives, in an endless cycle, and the cycle repeated itself until one day, the universe started to die, and Cala was left alone, alone in a black and cold abyss, until suddenly, everything became bright... and then... they woke up alone, in a cold but colorful abyss... floating without anything to do, without anything to create nor destroy, without anyone to save nor kill... After floating in that colorful abyss for what seemed like an eternity, Cala saw something, a strange sphere surrounded by other spheres (the solar system), he swam hastily towards the one that seemed most cozy to live in (the earth), when Cala swam close enough to the sphere, Cala fell in landing in an ocean... when he opened his eyes and looked around, Cala saw something moving... it was a fish! surprised, he swam towards the fish, examining the creature, until he tried to grab it and it swam away, saddened by the sudden neglect of the fish, he decided to swim aimlessly. until one day, he saw something, an island in the strange new world he fell into, so he swam towards it for hours, days, and maybe even weeks, when he arrived and was able to get out of the water, he quickly realized that something wasn't right, the air seemed... suffocating, he tried to stand up, but he couldn't... and then he realized what was wrong, when he looked down, he realized that his feet weren't there, instead, he found a tail resembling the one of a sea creature, and when he looked at his hands, he realized that they looked more like flippers than hands, and when he tried to breathe, he realized that his lungs were replaced by gills, he struggled to get back in the water to be able to breathe... but his struggles were in vain as he drowned before being able to make it to the water... * First of Many. ... After what seemed to be his certain death, he woke up with a cloudy mind, he looked around to notice that he was on land, he noticed that he had his feet were back; but they had scales like the ones of a dragon, he also noticed that he still had a tail like the one of a sea creature, when he looked at his hands, they looked more like amphibian hands; like the ones of a frog, when he took a deep breath, he didn't feel like he was suffocating anymore. He decided to walk around this new part of the world he was able to visit; finding a deep forest with giant trees and wildlife everywhere, he has never seen something like this before, it was truly beautiful for him... After walking for a long time, he found something, it seemed to be some sort of built structures near a lake, it was a human village, he approached the village carefully, afraid and exited at the same time, but when he got there, he wasn't greeted with open arms, instead, the humans saw him as a threat, a monster, so they pelted him with arrows, he managed to barely escape alive. He hid in a cave, saddened by the sudden aggression of the inhabitants of the village... After years and years of cave dwelling and scavenging for any food or water, he decided to go back to the surface, tired of living like a mindless monster that only seeks to kill and eat, he went back to the village, to try making friends with the villagers, he walked up to the village, and when he was inevitably aimed at by archers, he offered them a strange, shiny rock, to try to make peace with them, the villagers thought about it deeply, and they decided to let Cala live in their village, but with one condition; that he couldn't harm in any way any villager, and that he would have to work to earn food, water, and a place to live. Cala accepted the offer and lived with the villagers for a decade, until one day... a terrifying and massive three-headed aquatic serpent (a hydra) attacked the village, emerging from the depths of the lake and absolutely decimating the population of the village, everyone either fled or died in battle against the beast, Cala was one the few lucky people that fled, he saw the whole thing happen from a distance, it was horrifying, watching a blood-lusting monster kill everyone that he once knew in cold blood, crushing them to red puddles on the floor or straight up eating them alive, it was too much for Cala to handle... ... But what Cala didn't account for, is that he wasn't far enough away from the monster for it to not notice him... the hydra leaped at Cala while he was mourning for his fallen friends, and swiftly cut his life short with a bite. * ... Bedtime Stories. ... He woke up in a strange floating flatform, around him were shapes and forms he has never seen before, cold and afraid, he curled up on the floating platform for what seemed like an eternity, when he finally decided to stand back up, he saw that more floating platforms had appeared, seemingly leading somewhere, so he decided to jump platform to platform to see what it was all about... After hours and hours of jumping from a platform to another he came across... a forest? Confused, he decided to venture into the strange forest, everything was crimson and blue, the leaves were diamond-shaped, and the trees seemed to form a path to... somewhere, so he decided to follow it, after following the path across the twisted forest, he found something right at the heart of the strange forest, it was a spirit with the form of a butterfly, it said nothing, yet Cala seemed to resonate with it, he approached the spirit carefully, the spirit approaching him, and eventually landing on his finger, Cala started feeling weird, and suddenly, he passed out... when he woke up, the butterfly was gone, and there was a strange curved sword with a pommel that resembles a Lotus flower, the blade itself resembling flowing water. After what seemed to be his certain death, he woke up with a cloudy mind, he looked around to notice that he was on land, he noticed that he had his feet were back; but they had scales like the ones of a dragon, he also noticed that he still had a tail like the one of a sea creature, when he looked at his hands, they looked more like amphibian hands; like the ones of a frog, when he took a deep breath, he didn't feel like he was suffocating anymore. He decided to walk around this new part of the world he was able to visit; finding a deep forest with giant trees and wildlife everywhere, he has never seen something like this before, it was truly beautiful for him... After walking for a long time, he found something, it seemed to be some sort of built structures near a lake, it was a human village, he approached the village carefully, afraid and exited at the same time, but when he got there, he wasn't greeted with open arms, instead, the humans saw him as a threat, a monster, so they pelted him with arrows, he managed to barely escape alive. He hid in a cave, saddened by the sudden aggression of the inhabitants of the village... After years and years of cave dwelling and scavenging for any food or water, he decided to go back to the surface, tired of living like a mindless monster that only seeks to kill and eat, he went back to the village, to try making friends with the villagers, he walked up to the village, and when he was inevitably aimed at by archers, he offered them a strange, shiny rock, to try to make peace with them, the villagers thought about it deeply, and they decided to let Cala live in their village, but with one condition; that he couldn't harm in any way any villager, and that he would have to work to earn food, water, and a place to live. Cala accepted the offer and lived with the villagers for a decade, until one day... a terrifying and massive three-headed aquatic serpent (a hydra) attacked the village, emerging from the depths of the lake and absolutely decimating the population of the village, everyone either fled or died in battle against the beast, Cala was one the few lucky people that fled, he saw the whole thing happen from a distance, it was horrifying, watching a blood-lusting monster kill everyone that he once knew in cold blood, crushing them to red puddles on the floor or straight up eating them alive, it was too much for Cala to handle... ... But what Cala didn't account for, is that he wasn't far enough away from the monster for it to not notice him... the hydra leaped at Cala while he was mourning for his fallen friends, and swiftly cut his life short with a bite. * ... He woke up in a strange floating flatform, around him were shapes and forms he has never seen before, cold and afraid, he curled up on the floating platform for what seemed like an eternity, when he finally decided to stand back up, he saw that more floating platforms had appeared, seemingly leading somewhere, so he decided to jump platform to platform to see what it was all about... After hours and hours of jumping from a platform to another he came across... a forest? Confused, he decided to venture into the strange forest, everything was crimson and blue, the leaves were diamond-shaped, and the trees seemed to form a path to... somewhere, so he decided to follow it, after following the path across the twisted forest, he found something right at the heart of the strange forest, it was a spirit with the form of a butterfly, it said nothing, yet Cala seemed to resonate with it, he approached the spirit carefully, the spirit approaching him, and eventually landing on his finger, Cala started feeling weird, and suddenly, he passed out... when he woke up, the butterfly was gone, and there was a strange curved sword with a pommel that resembles a Lotus flower, the blade itself resembling flowing water.
